E1 Chrome Color Add-on 1

Adding the Themes:
These 23 color themes are to be added to Allwebco E1 Chrome templates only. See your template help page it will indicate if your model is an E1. All drop menu Chrome models are E1 models.

STEP #1 | Click for Chrome Template Help
COPY OVER COLOR IMAGE FILES: Unzip the "Chrome-E1-1.zip" and copy over all the color folders in the "picts" folder in this zip file into your template "picts" folder. Example, in this zip file "picts" folder are 23 color folders, black, darkgreen, etc...

If Windows prompts you to replace or overwrite a folder you can choose "no". You should now have 23 or more color folders in your template "picts" folder.

STEP #2 | Click for Chrome Template Help
COPY OVER .css FILES: Copy over all the .css files in the "css" folder in this zip file into your template "css" folder.

If Windows prompts you to replace or overwrite a file you can choose "no". You should now have 32 or more .css files in your template "css" folder.

STEP #3 | Click for Chrome Template Help
COPY OVER .js FILES: You do not have to, but you can copy over the .js files in the zip file "css" folder into your template "css" folder. The new .js files are the same as your .js files but list all colors in this new download in the notes.

In this case if Windows prompts you to replace or overwrite the .js files you would choose "yes". You may want to make a backup of your current .js files so you will have a list of the templates original color themes.

Setting the New Colors:
Open the "css.js" in the "css" folder and edit the "var colorstyle" to any color you would like to use. This will be edited with a color name. If you completed step #3 on this page, there is a key at the top of the "css.js" so you know what colors are available. For the sidebar text scroller (if your template has a scroller) also edit the "css-scroller.js" in the "css" folder with a color theme choice.

VERSION YEAR NOTE: This is the 2010/2009 Chrome template theme update. Check your template "header.js" to see the version copyright year. You can skip this section if you have a 2010 or 2009 model. If you have a version older than 2009 you may want to use the "sidebar.htm" included in the "Files_for_2007_2008_models" folder. Use the "sidebar.htm" from the "For DLX models" folder for DLX models and the "For standard models" for non-DLX models. This new sidebar includes formatted boxes in the left sidebar. Additionally, in 2007 and 2008 models, if you do not have a "sidebar-left.js" copy this file into your template folder from the "sidebar-left_JS" folder in this zip file. Use this file ONLY if you do not now have a "sidebar-left.js".

If you do the steps above and the colors are not working:
  1. Try doing the above steps again from the start.
  2. You edited the "var colorstyle" incorrectly in the template css.js. Use only lowercase and only the choices above.
  3. You did not place the 23 color folders in this zip file into your template "picts" folder.
  4. You are editing on-line files instead of files on your hard drive.
  5. If you have uploaded: Remember that hosting areas are case sensitive. Be sure all file, folder names and link names match exactly.
  6. NOTE: Always make backup files and test after each edit before you go to another edit. You can always delete your backups later.
