Father Amaladoss

Father Amal

Father Amaladoss (Father Amal) comes to us from the Diocese of Tiruchirapalli in southern India. He is a member of the Camaldolese Order from the Benedictine Monastery. Although this is his first time in the U.S., Father Amal is no stranger to living outside his homeland. He completed six years of philosophy and theology studying in Rome, Italy and he studied French Language in Paris, France for six months. He was ordained a priest July 3, 2004.  He served in his Monastery  as a Administrator and local parish priest. Two years back, Father Amal spent a four month internship at Saint Mary’s, Neillsville. From October2007 Father Amal was appointed as Parochial Administrator for the Quad Parishs: Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Mary’s Ridge. Sacred heart of Jesus, Cashton. Saint Augustin of Hippo, Norwalk. Saint John the Baptist, Summit Ridge.
Father Amal is a man of prayer and commitment to the Church. He is here because of his desire to experience the pastoral life of the Catholic Church in other parts of the world. He has a background in Classical Indian Music, a talent and training he uses to proclaim the gospel with effectiveness in a setting where Catholics are a small minority. Father Amaladoss has composed and produced two music albums. Welcome to Prairie du Chien Father!
